My life as an educator developed as I became a private tutor and grew my experience teaching individual students and catering to their specific needs. Tutoring was a natural extension of my classroom lessons. While helping students with their daily work, I also guided them through a program of Study Skills. Again, my classroom goal of teaching students how to learn, instead of just helping them with individual assignments proved to be of great value. My students became excellent readers, effective in finding relevant information quickly and using it in an organized way to study for tests or write papers. I know that personalized attention and learning how to learn has given an invaluable advantage to many of my students.
